Welcome to the Networking Technologies research group da/net.
DemoQuanDT Demonstration March 17 to 19
The da/net team, Malte Bauch, Neil Schark, Fabian Seidl, and Martin Stiemerling will show the DemoQuanDT demonstrator at the german national IT cybersecurity conference 2025 (Nationale Konferenz IT-Sicherheitsforschung 2025 - Cybersicherheit und Demokratie) for the whole project. Johanna Henrich of the UCS group will present her poster about “Confidential and authenticated key forwarding in QKD networks”.
The DemoQuanDT project has built a 900+ km Quantum Key Distribution Network (QKDN) from Bonn to Berlin in Germany. The Quantum links rely on commercially available Quantum modules while the Key Management Systems, control of the network, routing in the network, and how the QKDN is embedded in the network of Deutsche Telekom has been the outcome of the project.
The demonstrator at the conference will use emulated Quantum Links and the goKMS (both available as opensource in the quant Git repository), SDN controller (goSDN available as opensource), and routing logic to show how the QKDN works and how it reacts to changes. The goKMS is actually deployed on 50 % of the trusted nodes in the live network, additionally to the goSDN controller and the routing logic.
The partners are Adva Network Security, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Deutsche Telekom (coordinator), KeeQuant, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, and the Technical University of Darmstadt.
